Future Advocacy Lab

We catalyse policy thinking and design advocacy strategies for new and underserved issues

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Back in 2015 we felt that there was a need for a think tank to explore the social impact of Artificial Intelligence.  At that time Deep Mind had just been bought by Google; Steven Hawkings was warning of the danger of powerful AI that escaped human control; and brilliant academics and computer scientists were exploring the opportunities and risks.

But we felt there was a need for a group that was propositional and practical about the policies that needed to be put in place.  So we delivered a programme of research, publications, advocacy, events, and creative activations to explore issues such as AI and the future of work, AI and health, AI and democracy, and the impact of AI in low-income countries.  All issues that have since broken into the mainstream.
