Future Advocacy was founded by Olly Buston who was a key architect of the Make Poverty History Campaign. Olly was Europe Director of Bono and Bob Geldof’s ‘ONE’ advocacy and campaign group for 7 years and has also worked as Director of the Walk Free anti-slavery movement. Olly was recently named as a top UK AI Influencer. Olly received a distinction for his Master’s in Development Studies from the LSE and a First Class in Social & Political Sciences from Cambridge University. Olly loves writing. He has drafted numerous policy reports; a tweet for the Pope; and the script for a campaign film featuring a host of Hollywood stars. He is currently (very slowly) writing a screenplay.

Nika is leading on policy and business engagement at Bite Back 2030, and has also developed policy and campaign priorities for the Jamie Oliver Group. Previously, she co-authored reports on AI and health and worked for clients including the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Movember. She produced Future Advocacy’s first series of advocacy masterclasses. Nika is a graduate from Cambridge University and is compiling a recipe book with family stories that she hopes will be handed down.

Rashidat has experience in feminist and anti-racism campaigning, as well as experience working in strategy consulting. She received a First-Class degree in Politics and Sociology from Cambridge University.

She has a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University, where she studied X chromosome inactivation, and writes fiction in her spare time.

Valentina Barbagallo is an Affiliate Consultant helping clients navigating the European Union bubble. Valentina is currently leading EU resource mobilisation campaigns for global mechanisms working on health, food security and agriculture and providing NGOs with high-level advocacy strategies on the EU budget. As EU policy & advocacy lead for The ONE Campaign, Valentina helped securing ground-breaking transparency legislation on anti-money laundering and played a leading role in converting an imminent cut to EU aid into nearly 1 billion euro in additional funds for development. Valentina previously worked at the Italian Permanent Representation to the EU and at the European Commission Representation in Milan. She holds an M.Sc. in Law from Bocconi University and an M.A. in EU Political Studies from the College of Europe.
