Mobilising adult survivors of childhood sexual violence

Future Advocacy has been supporting the Brave Movement and supporting mobilisation of  survivors across the world who are collectively calling for prevention, healing and justice. We worked with survivor activists of childhood sexual violence who are fighting for the right of all children and adolescents to grow up free from the threat of sexual violence. We helped Brave to launch a ‘Global Challenge’ – calling for survivors and allies across the world to make demands for changes they would like to see to end childhood sexual violence in their own countries.

We also co-created a ‘Global Call to Action’ with survivors, consisting of a set of demands and actions needed to urgently end childhood sexual violence on a global scale. This Call to Action has been endorsed by over 100 survivor-centred and ally organisations and counting. We also supported the Brave Movement to host its first-ever Global Survivors Action Summit, where over 1000 survivors and allies across the world came together. Attendees of the Summit included WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson, and Cuban singer, songwriter and survivor Gloria Estefan.

With support of Future Advocacy, survivors from all G7 countries launched a petition on Change.org, which has since amassed over 80,000 signatures, urging for bold, immediate action from G7 Leaders to end childhood sexual violence.
